How about an eatery that not only tickles your tastebuds just right but also has the nod from decades of sound nutritional research on the best food for our health? On June 3, 2017, a restaurant cafe popped up in Sadashiva Nagar Bangalore that has since done both those things.

At Justbe, we have an unwavering focus on the health and healing of our guests by the food we serve to them. We serve nutritious and natural plant-based food best suited for the human body – no added sugar or oil, dairy-free, free of all refined and processed ingredients, synthetic colors, and preservatives. Your search for quality restaurant-style food would end with us.

DR. NATURE

All of our food comes from nature and the ingredients we use are the building blocks of our long-term health. Its ways are incredibly complex and often seem mysterious but like a good doctor, nature has all the tricks up its sleeve to help us live a healthy and fulfilling life. Here is our humble attempt to document some of the goodness that nature bestows on us.

FRUITS

Fruits are Doctor Nature’s seasonal treats. When it comes to nutritional value-for-money, fruit is hard to beat. Fruits are high in fiber and potassium, and most are also good sources of vitamins A and C, folate, and a wide variety of phytochemicals.

  • Banana : Bananas give you energy – minus the fats and cholesterol
  • Avocado (Surprise, surprise! Avocado is a fruit) : Loaded With fiber and Heart-Healthy Monounsaturated Fatty Acids.
WHOLE GRAINS

Whole grains are packed with nutrients including protein, fiber, B vitamins, antioxidants, and trace minerals (iron, zinc, copper, and magnesium). A diet rich in whole grains has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer.

  • Amaranth : Amaranth is a nutritious, gluten-free grain that has been associated with a number of health benefits, including reduced inflammation, lower cholesterol levels and increased weight loss.
VEGETABLES

As part of an overall healthy diet, eating foods such as vegetables that are lower in calories per cup instead of some other higher-calorie food may be useful in helping to lower calorie intake. Eating vegetables as part of an overall healthy diet may reduce the risk for heart disease, including heart attack and stroke.

  • Green Leafy Vegetables : Dark green leafy vegetables are the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet.
  • Broccoli : This cruciferous vegetable contains chemicals that appear to enhance DNA repair in cells, which could lead to protection against cancer development.
Beetroot: Beets have been found to significantly improve athletic performance while reducing oxygen needs.
  • Beans and Legumes : Beans reign supreme in nutrition with lots of protein, antioxidants, complex carbohydrates and dietary fiber. They’re the cornerstone of every longevity diet in the world.
NUTS & SEEDS

Nuts and seeds are good sources of protein, healthy fats, fibres, vitamins and minerals. They regulate body weight, regulate food intake, and help burn energy. When taken in moderation, they carry immense health benefits.

  • Walnuts : They are rich in antioxidants and are a great source of Omega-3s.
  • Sesame Seeds : They are a powerhouse of calcium, manganese and copper.
